W e’re here at the Mobile World Congress and we’ve got our first hands-on with one of the latest gadgets from Samsung – Galaxy Note 8.0. This 8-incher is meant to counterattack the iPad Mini, the older Nexus 7 and gets launched right around the same time when HP announces the Slate 7, which means that the competition for the middle-sized tablet is even more acerbe. Samsung has all the sizes that you want: the 10 inch Galaxy Note, the 5.5 “smaller” Galaxy Note, taller new Galaxy Note II. Right now, a new size is here, trying to catch a new niche of users. F or me and for the broad audience, Microsoft is a software company . And I think it’s fair to say that besides a few hardware products, they don’t have too much experience in this field. In a move that many would consider weird, Asus has launched the MeMO Pad , a tablet that obviously gets launched to throw a challenge at the bigger brother, Nexus 7. I also find it weird that Asus didn’t announce this at CES 2013, when obviously, they would have gotten a much bigger promotion.
