LG Optimus G Pro with 5.5″ 1080p Curved Glass Display Announced

LG Optimus G Pro comes in Black and White colors

Who remembers the ergonomical disaster called LG Optimus Vu? You do? Well, it won’t be long before you forget that ugly phablet, thanks to LG, who has just announced a much better looking LG Optimus G Pro.
Sporting a 5.5″ Full HD (1080p) IPS Display, LG Optimus G Pro has derived a lot of inspiration from Google’s Nexus 4, specially the glitter pattern on the glass back. Rest of the drool-worthy specs include 2GB RAM, 1.7GHZ quad core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, 32GB of in-built memory, 3140mAh battery and a 13 MegaPixel camera.

We were hugely impressed with LG Optimus G, and Optimus G Pro takes it a notch further. Unlike the disastrous 4:3 screen on Optimus Vu, Optimus G Pro looks a lot similar to Galaxy Note 2 from the outset. However, we need to wait and see if LG can better (or at least match) the software on Galaxy Note 2. There is no mention about a stylus as well in the press release.

For now, Optimus G Pro will be made available in South Korea. No word when it’ll be available in US, Europe and other parts of Asia. But we expect to get a hands-on during the Mobile World Congress 2013 at Barcelona later this month. Stay tuned!
